Thinking about making improvements to your home?

You do not need the entire project figured out before reaching out, but a few things can make the first walkthrough much more productive.

1. What is the purpose of the project?
Is this for resale, general upkeep, or your own enjoyment? That answer matters. A project meant to prepare a home for market may call for different materials, finishes, timing, and budget choices than a project you plan to enjoy for the next 10 years.
2. What are the must-haves versus the nice-to-haves?
Almost every renovation starts with a wish list, but knowing what matters most helps keep the project focused. Your priorities may change depending on whether the goal is resale, functionality, maintenance, or simply making the home feel better for you.
3. Do you have inspiration photos or examples?
You do not need to know the exact design, layout, or materials. A few photos of kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, colors, or finishes you like can help move the conversation forward. “Modern,” “warm,” “clean,” and “functional” can mean different things, so examples help everyone get on the same page faster.
4. What is your ideal timeline?
Some projects can be done in phases. Others are better handled all at once so you can get back to normal life. Timeline matters even more if you are preparing to sell, hosting family, working from home, or planning around everyday life.
5. What is your budget comfort range?
I know budget can feel awkward, but it is extremely helpful. It is not so anyone can immediately spend all of it. It is so the conversation stays realistic and, when needed, you can be guided toward other options that still help reach your goals.

The first walkthrough is not about having all the answers. It is about understanding the house, your goals, the problems you are trying to solve, and what next steps make the most sense.
